Peranakan Waist Warmer

Peranakan Waist Warmer

A modern twist on post-pregnancy care in the Peranakan culture. This waist warmer is meant to be gifted to the new mother from either her mother or mother-in-law like in the olden days as a form of heirloom and blessing. The peony motifs which are traditional batik prints are a symbol of Spring and fertility,, while the bright colours of purple, red and gold are what Peranakans believe are auspicious colors.

Fitness Bites

Fitness Bites

Created for fitness enthusiasts who are either looking to bulk or cut. These bite-sized balls are the perfect on-the-go meals to take along with them to the gym or wherever they go. Each individual ball is packed with the required nutrients for their diet and the ingredients' nutrition values are clearly printed on the packaging. The packaging was inspired by the packaging of golf balls, this gives the packaging a sporty vibe, making it more appealing to fitness enthusiasts.

The Math Toaster

The Math Toaster

An interactive toy designed in collaboration with BeeTing and YiYao. This toy is meant to help parents teach their kids basic maths in a fun and enriching manner. The Math Toaster has a touch screen button that display the arithmetic functions in maths and can be changed to switch up the difficulty level of the math equations.

Slumber Buddy App

Slumber Buddy App

Slumber Buddy is an app co-created with Lionel, LiMin and Ilyas to aid teenagers who find it difficult to manage their sleep. One of the key functions of this app is its anti-snoozing function. The anti-snoozer works by getting users to work their brains by solving mini puzzles before they can even think of hitting the snooze button and go back to sleep.

Tramutarsi

Tramutarsi

This is a portable lighting device that helps to light up people's paths and guide them to where they want to go. It has 2 forms, the first is what seems to appear as a singular rod of light. The second form is when the light appears as a glowing orb. Users can change the forms by pushing up the handles.

'Remembrance' Moon cake Box

'Remembrance' Moon cake Box

This moon cake box was created to remember the story behind the origins of the mid-autumn festival. The box is made layered with layers of paper cut-outs which is a very traditional Chinese art. The story that I am trying to portray here is the passing of secret messages in the dark via moon cakes, explaining the dark packaging with the innermost layer 'glowing' like how the moon would glow at night.

Fyrkant Bench

Fyrkant Bench

This bench was handmade from scratch with my group members JiaMin and Shangkari. This bench is made up of just plywood and a bit of wood fillers here and there. It is mainly held together by different types of joints such as the dovetail and dado joints. We envision Fyrkant to be placed in a park for passersby to rest on. The bench sits about 3 people comfortably. This bench was named Fyrkant as it is the Swedish word for 'square'.

Play 'n' Learn Pasta

Play 'n' Learn Pasta

This pasta is meant for parents to play with their kids by getting their kids to arrange food like peas and carrot cubes within the lines of the pasta. The pasta layers can then be layered on each other like lasagna and then baked as a meal for the kid and the parent. This is also a unique way of getting kids who are picky with their foods to eat the veggies they have already decorated their pasta with.
